Two decades ago, Lisa Cox OAM was like many of you and busy climbing the corporate ladder. Then life really went tits up and she medically died twice, spent over a year in hospital and acquired multiple disabilities. But today, Lisa is a change-maker and the epitome of fearless living on a mission to empower, educate and motivate.

She is an author, TEDx speaker, internationally awarded thought leader and more. Lisa’s going to be sharing stories about what got her through the toughest times twenty years ago and what she’s still doing today when things go tits up. From mental health to inclusive marketing strategies, no questions are off limits!

SHELLY HORTON

In 2020, TV personality Shelly Horton almost quit her job, thinking she was about to be fired. In fact, her bosses were happy it was just her hormones making her feel this way.  At 45, she felt too young for menopause or its symptoms like anxiety, depression, brain fog, and hot flushes.  She had never heard the term perimenopause and like many women was left in the dark and dismissed by doctors.

Once she found a GP trained in perimenopause, she felt like herself again within a month. 

Then, she got angry.  So, she turned peri into her passion and set about educating others, so they weren’t sideswiped too. She was part of Australia’s first ever Parliamentary roundtable on menopause in 2023.  This helped prompt a Senate Enquiry into menopause.  Shelly co-created, with Dr Ginni Mansberg, a workplace-based program to help keep women employed through empowerment and positivity called Don’t Sweat It. 

By sharing her journey, Shelly will show you how to balance your career and health. She is your peri godmother.

REBECCA SAUNDERS

Mudgee local Rebecca Saunders is a powerhouse entrepreneur and business coach on mission to empower women to embrace their authenticity. In 2020, after 25 years of wearing a wig, Rebecca publicly revealed her alopecia to live openly, inspiring other women to tackle tall poppy syndrome, engage in honest conversations, and celebrate achievements with pride.

As a city transplant to country life, Rebecca understands the loneliness that regional businesswomen often face. Alongside her role as editor and publisher of Mudgee's Mid-Western Living Magazine, she founded The Champagne Lounge, she’s created a welcoming space where female entrepreneurs —especially those in regional areas— can connect, feel supported, and celebrate their wins without fear of judgment.

Her entrepreneurial journey is bold and inspiring. At 22, Rebecca booked a one-way ticket to Sydney with her laptop and just $500. It was here that she built her now global, 7-figure video production company, initially building it to sponsor herself to stay in Australia.
